NEW: The Miss Pinup UK Finals 2019 - at Shake & Stir!
A first for the festival… this summer we are teaming up with the fabulous Rio Wild of ‘All About Pinup’ to bring you the Miss Pinup UK Finals; packed with unique performances, judging, Q&A’s and much more across the weekend.
The All About Pinup values are to positively support, inspire and empower every woman with the Pinup Family and that is what they’ve been doing since their creation; developing Pinup competitions that provide new and experienced Pinups with the support, encouragement and inspiration needed to gain the courage and confidence, not only to present themselves on stage... but into everyday life as well!
Rio believes that every woman has a Special Talent and these are an integral part of the competition. Along with her team of fabulous Mentors at All About Pinup, they take great pride in working with every Entrant to inspire, empower and provide support. ‘Finding hidden talents is what I live for!’, Rio tells us.
Over the years, the Special Talent round has included a sewing demonstration on stage, science experiments, Highland dancing, burlesque, fashion shows, hair demonstrations, vocal talents and much more! Rio says, ‘It’s like a magical mystery tour!’ and loves to quote that Reese Witherspoon once said, ‘Women are infinitely capable of achieving great things’.
Along with Miss Pinup UK, they also run Miss Pinup Ireland and Miss Pinup International which is open to entries around the World. Entrants should be 18 or over and reside for at least 3 years in the country of the title they enter with the intention to stay at least 1 year during their reign.
Previous UK Winners have been Scarlett Luxe (2013), Dolly Daydream (2014), Lulu Vesper (2015), Scarlet Franco la Fey (2016), Miss Whiskey Twist (2017) and the current reigning Miss Pinup UK, SiSi Shiraz.
During the Finals event, Finalists present their Special Talents on stage followed by a brief Q&A with the Judges so we can all find out a little bit more about these amazing Pinups. The Judges have a hard job and scores are often very close. Each category is marked out of 5 for both the Talent and Q&A section. Categories include; Miss Pinup Factor, Empowerment, Inspiration, Positivity, Originality and Stage Presence.
Rio handpicks the Judges and does not get involved with judging at the Finals event. Finalists are then chosen through online voting, peer votes and Rio’s Wildcards.
