The Vintage Cycle Ride!

Dig out your best vintage attire, tartan & hats… and join us for the inaugural Shake & Stir Vintage Bicycle Ride on Sunday, 30th June.

Starting from Fisherman's Walk, we will cycle through lovely Southbourne up to King's Park… enjoying the spirit of a by-gone era.

We will then tour down through to Hengistbury Head, giving our very young (or very old) cycling companions a chance to finish half the route.

During our 15 km (9 mi) journey we will be stopping at the Cliff House Hotel, who will be providing a fabulous vintage cream tea for all riders participating.

The ride will then reach its conclusion upon return to the Shake & Stir festival - allowing riders to enjoy Sunday’s afternoon entertainment.

There will be prizes for Best Dressed Gentleman, Lady, Child, Group, Bicycle and Moustache!

So why not come along with some jolly friends…

The Ride begins at 12 noon. Registration opens from 10:00 am. We have teamed up with the very popular Velo Domestique who have offered free checks on participant bicycles. Additionally, why not book in with Pearl's Pin Up Parlour who will give you great lips, flicks and hair ready in time for the Ride.

During the ride, Marshalls on bicycles and chaps from the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride and Dorset Free Riderz will cruise along with you - keeping an eye on you and the road ahead.

This is a ticketed event, and as-such there are costs associated.

Tickets are £10 per adult (over 12 years), £8 children (under 12 years), £34 for a family of four. Booking fee applies.

Included in the price: Marshalled route, Cream Tea at the Cliff House Hotel (Southbourne), free bicycle checks from Velo Domestique, early, dedicated appointments with Pearl's Pin-up Parlour, dedicated area for bicycle parking (bicycles parked at owner's risk).

As we are stiff-upper lip British, the event will go ahead even in the case of a light drizzle of rain.

So what are you waiting ladies & gents? Let's all go on a jolly cycle!
